WARNING:
•
In some cases such as a blocked root canal, a measurement cannot be
made. (
Refer to chapter3)
•
Accurate measurement is not always possible, especially in cases of
abnormal or unusual root canal morphology. Make sure to take an X-ray
to check the results.
•
Stop using the device immediately if it does not seem to be working
properly.
•
If the canal length indicator bar does not appear even when the file is
inserted, the device may be malfunctioning and must not be used.
CAUTION :
•
If the canal is too dry, the meter may not move until the file is near the
apex. If the meter does not move, stop the measurement. Moisten the
canal with oxydol (hydrogen peroxide) or saline, and then try measuring
again.
•
Occasionally the meter will make a sudden and large movement as soon
as the file is inserted into the root canal, but it will return to normal as
the file is advanced down towards the apex.
•
After measuring the root canal, make sure to take an X-ray to check the
measurement results.
•
The numerals 1, 2, and 3 do not represent length in millimeters from the
apical. These numbers are used to estimate the canal’s working length.
