DANGER
Serious injuries by uncontrolled movements of the product.
• Carry out a risk assessment for the operation of the product.
• Do not put the product into operation until the hazards to personnel identified in the risk assess-
ment have been eliminated by taking suitable measures.
WARNING
If the planar surface gantry is mounted vertically
Danger of death and property damage by falling Y-axis (cross-brace)
The Y-axis (cross-brace) will fall down uncontrolled in the following cases:
– If the power supply is interrupted during operation if not all components for the vertical mounting
position are mounted.
– If the toothed belt breaks during operation or standstill.
• Make sure that all required components are mounted and ready for operation.
• Ensure through appropriate protection devices that no persons are located in and below the
operating area of the planar surface gantry.
• Before switching off the power supply, ensure the following:
• The motors are stationary (no rotary motion).
• The Y-axis (cross-brace) is in the lower end position at the end caps.
WARNING
Serious injuries if installation and commissioning are not performed correctly.
• Commissioning may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
• Experience with the installation and operation of electrical control systems is essential.

Homing
• If possible, carry out the homing on the motor side.
The stop detection should take place at a torque adapted to the application.
