6.2
Mounting requirements
Mounting requirements for the complete functional range of the planar surface gantry:
–
Sufficient space for the movement of the axes and the optional attachment component (Z-axis)
–
Torsion-resistant mounting surface
–
Tension-free mounting sufficient for the maximum forces
–
Corresponding flatness of the mounting surface for correctly aligned axes
6.3
Mounting position
The planar surface gantry can be mounted horizontally or, if certain requirements are met, vertically.
6.3.1
Horizontal mounting position
Mounting specifications
The energy chains must be above the X-axis.
NOTICE
The reversed mounting position with the energy chains hanging downward is not permissible.
6.3.2
Vertical mounting position
Requirements
The following components must be ordered and mounted:
–
Drive with motors with brake
WARNING
If the specified requirements are not met:
Danger of death and property damage by falling cross-brace (Y-axis).
If the power supply is interrupted (e.g. by power failure) during operation, the cross-brace may fall
uncontrolled.
The motor brakes are only designed as holding brakes and cannot stop a moving cross-brace.
• To prevent falling:
Make sure that the requirements for a vertical mounting position are met: all components must be
ordered and mounted.
Mounting specifications
–
The X-axes are laid out vertically.
–
The curve of the X-axis energy chain is aligned hanging down.
This means that the motors must be at the top end of the X-axis.
6.4
Types of mounting
There are two types of mounting kits for mounting the planar surface gantry:
–
Adjusting kits
or
–
Mounting plates
The ordered mounting kits are pre-assembled on the planar surface gantry.
6.4.1
Adjusting kits
Adjusting kits EADC-E12-… are used for mounting and aligning the planar surface gantry.
