Mounting (vertical mounting position)
53
8.1.2
Requirements
–
The transport crate is located at the mounting location
–
The transport crate is opened and the transportation screws are removed
–
Movable parts of the planar surface gantry are still fixed with transportation locks (cable binders):
–
Y-axis (cross-brace)
–
Y-axis slide
–
The requirements for the mounting surface are as specified
–
All requirements and mounting specifications for the vertical mounting position have been fulfilled
6.3.2 Vertical mounting position.
–
The threaded holes in the mounting surface are prepared
WARNING
If the toothed belt breaks, the Y-axis (cross-brace) will fall down uncontrolled.
Danger of death and material damage.
• Ensure through appropriate protection devices that no persons are located in and below the
operating area of the planar surface gantry.
–
The planar surface gantry and the mounting surface are at the same temperature.
NOTICE
If there are temperature differences between the planar surface gantry and the mounting surface:
• Equalise the temperature of the planar surface gantry and the mounting surface.
• Observe the permissible ambient temperature
14.2 Operating and storage conditions.
–
Up to three persons will be required for some steps of the following work (mounting, alignment,
toothed belt tensioning).
If the mounting surface for the planned vertical mounting position can be moved to the horizontal
position before mounting:
Recommendation for procedure
• Mount and align the planar surface gantry onto the horizontal mounting surface.
Follow the description
7 Mounting (horizontal mounting position).
• Mount the mounting surface with the planar surface gantry in the vertical mounting position.
Advantages
• Mounting is easier and safer.
• It can be aligned without a laser tracker.
Note
• All requirements for a vertical mounting position must be met.
