9 MAINTENANCE

9.1 Routine maintenance

With compressed air, routinely blow away the dust that accumulates inside the motor and the
pieces of metal remaining on the table and on the tip.

Every 50 hours or every 5 days

lubricate the speed change gear mechanism, the surfaces

and the guides of the work table, the grooves of the spindle, the manual feed handwheels

and the rack with oil (Figure 26).

Every 120 hours or every month of life

of the machine, adjust both cross and longitudinal

table play.

Every 300 hours or every 6 months during the life of the machine

, a thorough check of

operation, and wear and tear on the machine is to be carried out by a qualified technician.

of the machine, adjust the horizontal position of the

table to preserve accuracy.
