Grinding:
➤ Keep to an angle of tilt of 20 – 40°. In
this way you will obtain a good removal.
➤ Press the power tool on evenly and
move it over the surface.
Do not allow the surface of the workpiece
to become too hot.
Cutting:
➤ Always work against the direction of
rotation so that the cutting wheel does not
jump out of the cut.
Stopping (Figure 7).
➤ Let go of all the pressing surfaces. The
accessory begins to slow down.
Working in the arrested mode
(7 221 20/7 221 14, Figure 7).
If 2 or 3 of the pressing surfaces are briefly actu-
ated at the front and back at the same time whilst
the angle grinder is running, it will continue to
run without interruption without having to
press one of the pressing surfaces any further.
➤ Briefly press one of the 4 pressing sur-
faces to stop the angle grinder. The acces-
sory begins to slow down.
Please note: The electronic braking system, EBS ,
gradually initiates the braking effect after a short
delay when the power tool slows down, and
stops the accessory within a few seconds.
In the case of a power cut during operation, or
if the mains plug is pulled out during operation,
the accessory slows down without braking.
Repair and customer service.
Regular cleaning.
Carry out the following steps once a week, or
more often if used frequently:
➤
Unscrew the clamping unit by hand to
protect it from damage and dirt.
➤
Engage the quick-clamping lever.
➤
Clean the cooling air vents.
Use non-metallic tools to clean the air vents.
➤ Blow out the interior of the power tool
from outside through the air vents with
dry, compressed air.
If required, you can change the following parts
yourself:
– Clamping unit (6b)
– Guard (6c)
– Auxiliary handle (6d)
– Application tools
For repairs, we recommend our FEIN customer
service centre, the FEIN authorised service cen-
tres and FEIN agencies. For addresses, see the
enclosed “General Safety Instructions”.
When carrying out your own repairs by quali-
fied electricians we supply the repair documen-
tation upon request.
Repairs may only be carried out by quali-
fied electricians in conformity with the
valid regulations.
Please always hand this Instruction Manual
to the those carrying out the repair.
If the supply cord of this power tool is
damaged it must be replaced by a specially
prepared cord available through the FEIN cus-
tomer service centre.
Accessories.
Only use accessories recommended by
FEIN.
