Changing the tool.
Attaching or changing the wheel (Figure 4).
Use:
– the clamping unit for the grinding and cutting
wheel for work using a grinding and cutting
wheel
– the clamping unit for elastic backing pads
(accessory) for a fibre sanding disc combined
with the elastic backing pad
➤
Loosen the quick-clamping lever (1) and
swivel it to the stop.
➤
Completely unscrew the clamping
unit (4) by hand.
➤
Change the used accessory or insert a
new one.
➤
Screw in the clamping unit (4). Tighten
the clamping unit tightly by hand until
notching is audible.
➤
Swivel the quick-clamping lever (1) back
until it engages.
Securing the work piece.
➤
Secure the workpiece adequately.
A
workpiece that is not properly secured
can, for example, cause the accessory to jam and
kick back, fall and cause other hazards.
General operating instructions.
Putting into operation.
First check that the mains supply lead and
mains plug are not damaged.
➤
Ensure that the quick-clamping lever (1)
is engaged.
Starting (Figure 7).
After inserting the mains plug, the angle grinder
can be started in any working position by press-
ing the pressing surfaces (2) twice in succession.
➤
Hold the angle grinder in the required
working position, either at the
back (START A) or front (START B); lightly
press at least one of the 4 pressing surfaces, and
keep it/them pressed.
Please note:
The accessory begins to move with
short, low-power impulses. The angle grinder
thereby indicates that the first pressing surface
has been activated.
For the working position holding the power tool
at the back (START A):
➤
Briefly
press the pressing surface near
the auxiliary handle with your thumb.
For the working position holding the power tool
at the front (START B):
➤
Briefly
press one of the buttons at the
back.
The angle grinder starts gently and reaches
its working speed after a short time.
Please note:
The angle grinder does not start up:
– if the pressing surfaces (2) are pressed at the
front
and
the back at the same time
– if the quick-clamping lever (1) is not swung
back and engaged
– if one or more of the pressing surfaces is/are
pressed while the mains plug is inserted
Operation (Figure 7).
➤
Only keep
one
of the 4 pressing sur-
faces permanently pressed. The angle
grinder remains at working speed.
Please note
: The pressing surfaces are easily
accessible to avoid having to work in a cramped
position. It is possible to change one’s working
position at any time by changing the grip. One
must only make sure that the accessory does not
come to a standstill. As long as the accessory is
still rotating and is not braked by the EBS, the
angle grinder can be brought to the working
speed again by pressing one of the 4 pressing
surfaces (2) once again.
The
self-start prevention lock
prevents the angle
grinder from starting again on its own accord if
the current supply has been interrupted during
operation, even if only for a short time, e.g. by
pulling out the mains plug.
➤
Apply the power tool to the workpiece.
Conduct the mains lead away from the rotat-
ing wheel.
If you lose control over the
power tool, the mains lead could be cut through
or caught, thereby drawing your hand or your
arm into the rotating wheel.
Use a high speed for grinding or cutting
operations.
Do not strain the power tool!
