The detection method is configurable by the user in “AFD Outputs” by default, output 1 and output 2 are
configured to detect the arc flash supervised by current and output 3 and output 4 supervise the arc
flash supervised by light:

The accuracy of the trip time depends on the method used to supervise the arc flash:
•
Supervised by light: maximum trip time will be 1.4ms.
•
Supervised by current: maximum trip time will be 6.5ms in a single-phase system, in three-
phase system 4.1ms.
The trip time will depend on the injected current value above the “current
tap” and the number of samples selected in “time delay”. The following curves are made
with
“current tap=1” and “time delay=1”.
