Be safe
Do not stand or rest heavy objects on the hob. Although
the ceramic surface is very strong, a sharp blow or sharp
falling object might cause the surface to crack. As soon as
any crack in the surface becomes visible disconnect the
appliance immediately from the supply and arrange for its
repair. Care should be taken that no water seeps into the
appliance.
During use, and afterwards, the appliance will be warm, so
be careful with little children. If the younger members of
your family are allowed into the kitchen we strongly advise
that they are kept under supervision at all times.
We recommend you read pages 28-29 if you have not
used an electric cooker before. We describe some basic
guidelines on how to use a cooker safely.
Electricity on
Make sure that the electricity supply is turned on.
Power saving device
Your new cooker is fitted with an Intelligent Power Saving
Device. This works automatically and normally you will be
unaware that anything is happening. There is an indicator
light at the centre back of the hob top. Normally it will not
be visible but if the light starts to flash it means the device
is operating. When this happens cooking on the hob may
be slowed - try using a different combination of hob cook-
ing areas. To minimise any effect on oven cooking,
preheat the oven before use, particularly for baking. Al-
ways check that meat and poultry are fully cooked espe-
cially when cooking using the timer.
Peculiar smells
When you first use your cooker it may give off a slight
odour. This should stop after a little use.
Pictures
This instruction covers several different models. The con-
trol knobs and control panel graphics are different for each
model. Some pictures may be different to your cooker but
we hope the function is clear.

You can use all the hob units in any combination you like,
but some combinations are more effective than others.
Use the right hand end hob unit first, when possible.
