Number of Connections
A switcher can have up to 200 simultaneous TCP connections, including all HTTP sockets
and Telnet connections. When the connection limit is reached, the switcher accepts no new
connections until some have been closed. No error message or indication is given that the
connection limit has been reached. To maximize the performance of your switcher, keep the
number of connections low and close unnecessary open sockets.
Establishing a USB Port Connection
A standard USB cable and the Extron DataViewer utility, version 2.0 or newer, can be used
for connection to the DTP CrossPoint matrix switcher Configuration port. The USB cable,
available at any local electronics store, should be terminated on one end with a mini USB B
male connector.
Host-to-Switcher Instructions
The switcher accepts SIS commands through its serial port, its USB port, or its LAN port.
SIS commands consist of one or more characters per command field. They do not require
any special characters to begin or end the command character sequence. Each switcher
response to an SIS command ends with a carriage return and a line feed (CR/LF =
]
),
which signals the end of the response character string. A string is one or more characters.
NOTE:
The tables that begin on the next page are a partial list of SIS commands. For a
complete listing, see the
