2.6 Terminology
Owner/operator
An Owner/operator is the person or company who owns or rents the
lifting aid, and uses it for commercial or other purposes.
Operating
personnel
Operating personnel is someone who works with the lifting aid and has
been informed and instructed about the possible dangers of an assi-
gned task in case of incorrect operation, and also about the necessary
protective measures, safety devices, standards, accident prevention
regulations, and working conditions.
Expert
An Expert is a person who, because of training, experience, knowledge
of appropriate standards, accident prevention regulations, and working
conditions, is able to carry out maintenance and servicing work as
assigned by the owner/operator in addition to normal operation of the
equipment.
The Expert must be able to assess the assigned tasks, recognize
possible dangers, and take preventive measures.
