sources. They are designed for interior rooms with limited daylight, for ex-
ample corridors, cellars and staircases. An integrated microphone enhances
the motion detection capacity and means the detectors are also suitable
for use in non-square rooms. In combination with the ESYLUX cover IP 44
(item number EM10055157), the Touch wall detectors can also be used in
bathrooms or other rooms with high humidity levels.
When presence is detected, the detectors can switch connected consumers
on and off via relays. In addition to the presence of people, they also detect
the strength of the ambient light.
3.2 Differences between the presence detectors and motion
detectors
The wall-mounted detectors are available as presence detectors (models
PD-C 180i/16 Touch plus and PD-C 180i/16 Touch plus CH) and as motion
detectors (model MD-C 180i/16 Touch and MD-C 180i/16 Touch CH).
The presence detector is more suitable for the detection of smaller move-
ments, for example, people performing seated activities. The presence
detector also has an additional switching channel. This is suitable, for
example, for heating, air-conditioning and cooling devices.
The motion detector is particularly suitable for rooms with high volumes of
through traffic.

Functions and specification
Both models offer the following important features:
•
Wall-mounted motion detector with 180° field of detection
• Operation by touch panel, button and infrared remote control
• High-performance relay with tungsten pre-contact
• Integrated microphone for detection in non-square spaces
•
The field of detection of the presence detectors can be extended us
-
ing slave detectors from the ESYLUX C series
• Pre-set programs can be selected by touch panel
• Parameter setting by Infrared remote control Mobil-PDi/MDi (available
as accessory, item number EM10425509)
• Impulse mode, for actuating automatic stair lights, for example
