4. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 G
ENERAL
•
MYOPIA EXPERT 700 should be used only for its intended purposes, as detailed in this manual.
•
Keep this manual handy and close to the device at all times.
•
The instrument can be used only by qualified personnel (eye specialists, ophthalmologists,
opticians, and optometrists) after having read this user manual.
•
For each clinical function, hazards have been identified from potential faults or misuse of the
system. There are no unacceptable risks related to clinical functions, so there is no Essential
Performance for the device.
•
The device must be installed by qualified staff.
•
The device must be connected to an appropriate power source; otherwise, its performance may be
reduced.
•
Position the unit so that it is not difficult to disconnect the plug for connection to the supply
line.
•
If the device has just been delivered or underwent thermal shock, wait at least one hour before
making measurements on patients.
•
If the device has been affected by external forces (e.g., if it is hit or dropped), it must be
thoroughly checked before examining patients. To do this, refer to the related section in this
manual. If necessary, send the device in for repair.
•
Remove all the covering material (dust sheet) from the device before turning it on.
•
Run all the control functions (detailed in the related section in this document) before carrying
out measurements on patients.
•
The physician or device user must inform the patient of the related safety instructions and ensure
that they are observed.
•
Use only genuine MYOPIA EXPERT 700 accessories and spare parts.
•
Turn off the device if it is not going to be used for an extended period.
•
Unauthorized software installation in the device is not permitted.
