Use the knob on the right side of the printer only to clear paper jams when the printer is off.

4. The printer starts printing when it receives data. The printing position (the position of the first

letter of the first line) is set to 3 mm (0.12 inch) from the left edge of the paper by default. See
“Adjusting the printing position” on page 121 for more information on the printing position.

Adjusting the printing position

You can adjust the initial printing position for the automatic sheet alignment unit.

Follow these steps to adjust the initial printing position.

Note:

The range of print stat position is from 2.0 mm to 29.0 mm from the left edge of the paper. The default
is 3 mm.

The automatic sheet alignment unit must be installed prior to adjusting the print start position.
