N.B.: For proper protection of the tank, the anode must
always be electrically powered and the green light must be
steady (flashing or off).
Failure to do so will render the ITM-200 B void.
COMMISSIONING THE ANODE
Once the tank is filled with water and the test is successfully
completed, the equipment can be electrically powered. When
the appliance is switched on, all the lights on the appliance will
light up repeatedly; this phase may last a few minutes and is used
for the correct start of the protection system. After this phase, the
equipment will begin normal operation.
The DHW tank of the ITM-200 B is protected from corrosion by
an electronic anode already installed and electrically connected
to the terminal block. The connection for the electronic anode
is located on the upper part of the DHW boiler (

The Boguard electronic impressed current anode is equipped
with self-regulation of the protection potential.
TESTING THE ANODE
Check the insulation and continuity with the use of an electrical
tester:
The electrical insulation between the central titanium rod
of the electrode and the cap must be secured (Fig. A).
The thread of the cap must be in electrical continuity with the
metal surface of the tank (Fig. B).
MEANING OF THE LIGHT SIGNALS DURING OPERATION
Green light:
Correct operation and active protection. During the first our after
switching on, the light flashes (Booster function). Subsequently
the light remains fixed.
Red light:
Steady on if the cable between the appliance and the electrode
is disconnected / oxidized or the condition of electrical conti-
nuity between the thread of the cap and the metal surface of
the tank is not respected. Flashing on if the cable, connectors or
electrode and its cap are short-circuited.
Yellow light:
On flashing if the equipment detects electrical anomalies in the
tank or installation defects.
• One flash every 4 seconds: heat exchangers or electric heaters
mounted in the boiler not correctly insulated or the presence
of stray DC currents detected. harmful to the corrosion of the
tank.
• Two flashes every 4 seconds: detected the presence of stray
currents in AC. harmful to the corrosion of the tank.
• Three flashes every 4 seconds: presence of both the first and
second anomaly detected.
For correct operation of the anode, the electrical conductivity
of the water in the boiler must not in any case be less than 150
µs / cm.
Inside the boiler, the anode must not touch other components
such as resistors, coils, etc.
Do not cut or modify the connection cables
To avoid the accumulation of hydrogen gas in the tank, we
recommend not to leave the tank full of water unused for
periods longer than 3 months. Within this period, open the
taps of the hot water system to allow the outflow of any hydro-
gen accumulated inside.
Check at least once a month that only the green LED on the
appliance is lit.
The Boguard protection system can only be switched off or
disconnected if the kettle is empty.
