6.2 Installing the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer
While installing the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer be sure not to impair the function of
the tube system. An unwanted interruption of the extracorporeal patient circulation due to
damage or to tube kinking has to be avoided.
Make sure that only tubes specified for the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer are used. During
calibration, only this tube type is used. The stated measurement accuracy of the flow meters
can only be guaranteed with these specific tubes. One also has to make sure that the correct
calibration parameters are used. Changes in medium temperature or the use of another liquid
can cause errors in the measurement.
The prescribed parameters can be found in the attached data sheets. Additionally, the most important
parameters of the connected. SonoTT

Attaching the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer to the Tube
After connecting the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer to the flow meter (screw connection with the 15-pin high
density D-Sub-socket), it then has to be attached to the outside of the tube where the flowing liquid is to be
measured.
Before closing the lid, make sure that the tube is not deformed, damaged or dirty in the area of
the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer. Air in the tube can lead to errors in the measurement or to
an interruption of the ultrasound coupling.
Make sure that the arrow is aligned with the flow direction (→ positive flow-display). Clamp the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer onto the tube as shown in the pictures:
1.
Open the spring–actuated lock and swing back the cover
2. Insert the tube into the notch.
3.
Close the SonoTT
TM
Clamp-On Transducer lid and lock it with the help of the spring-actuated lock.
