Water Filter and Water Tank Cover Removal
The water filter is located at the lower left side of the
fresh food compartment. It is not necessary to turn the
water supply off to change the filter.
1. Turn off the ice maker on the control panel.
2. Push the filter release button above the cartridge to
disconnect it. (See Figure 6-45)
3. Slide the old water filter cartridge straight out of the
housing and discard it.
4. Unpack the new filter cartridge and remove the two
(2) protective caps covering the inlet and exit of the
filter. Slide the filter gently into the housing until it
stops against the snap-in connector at the back of
the housing. (See Figure 6-46)
5. Push firmly until the cartridge snaps into place with
two clicks. The front of the filter cartridge should be
flush with the filter release button.
6. Turn on the ice maker at the control panel.
7. Press a drinking glass against the water dispenser
while checking for any leaks at the filter housing.
8. Prime the water supply system.
9. Press and hold the Filter Status button on the control
panel for three (3) seconds. When the display
changes from “Replace” to “Good,” the status has
been reset.
To access the water tank and water filter components,
loosen the three screws securing the assembly to the
liner sidewall. Lift the assembly upwards until the screw
heads clear the slots and pull assembly away from the
sidewall. (See Figure 6-47)
Water Filter Connection (Non Dispenser Models)
The water fi lter has been changed to accept the ¼” tube
coming from the fi ll valve. The outlet tube from the fi lter
connects to a fi ll spout that goes through the compart-
ment divider to fi ll the icemaker.
To remove the water filter and fill spout:
1. Remove the Perfect Temp Drawer

.
2. Extract the two screws securing the mounting
bracket to the unit side wall.
3. Lift mounting bracket upwards to release the screw
heads from the slots. Disconnect the water lines
from water filter.
4. Remove the fill tube from fill spout. (See Figure 6-48)
5. Remove fill spout from compartment divider.
