To Replace the Perfect Temp Drawer
™
Thermostat:
The thermostat senses the temperature of the heater
bracket and shuts the heater off in case the assembly
starts to get too hot. The thermostat will open at 100°F
and reset at 80°F.
1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. With the control unit removed, remove the back
cover.
3. Disconnect the wires from the control board.
4. Lift the heater straight up and out of the housing.
5. Disconnect the 2 wires from the thermostat.
6. Remove the 2 screws that mount the thermostat the
heated bracket. (See Figure 6-42)
To Replace the Perfect Temp Drawer
™
LED Lights:
1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Remove the Perfect Temp Drawer.
3. Lift the cover and disconnect wire harness.
4 Remove the cover from inside the refrigerator and
turn it over on a clean flat surface.
5. Remove the screws holding the cover in place and
remove
cover.
6. Push in on the two retaining tabs on each side of the
LED and remove it from the cover. (See Figure 6-43)
Damper Removal
The damper is located in the center air channel going up
the rear center of the compartment liner. If the damper
door is open, close by pushing on door before trying to
remove.
To replace the damper:
1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Remove the Crisper and Perfect Temp Drawer.
3. Remove the screw in the cover and lift the cover off.
4. With the cover removed, slide the damper straight
out of the air channel.
5. With the damper out release the tab in the center of
the electrical connector and unplug the wire harness
from the damper. The damper can now be removed
from the unit. (See Figure 6-44)
To reinstall the damper, make sure the damper door is
completely closed. Then follow the removal instructions
in reverse order. Use caution to make sure you get the
wiring connector pushed all the way in. Make sure the
seal on the damper connects with the liner and the cover
seal so there are no air leaks when the damper door is
closed.

NOTE:
Stepper motors require alternating polarities of
DC current to operate. Applying straight 12 VDC to
the damper motor will not make the motor run and it
could damage the motor windings. Only test the
damper motor through the refrigerator control system.
To test, set the control system into service test mode 2
(evaporator fan motor test) and allow the fan to run on
high speed. Pass a feather or small ribbon around all
sides of the damper cover and look for movement
indicating an air leak. If an air leak is present, remove
and recheck the seals, then reinstall the damper.
