Communications Wiring

DB-9F Port

Serial communication to a PLC or other system host is provided through a DB-9 female
connector as shown in Figures 5 & 6. This connector can be wired for RS-232 or RS-
485 communications.

RS-485

RS-485 can be used for “multi-drop” networks where more than one controller could be
connected to the system host.

RS-232

RS-232 can connect only a single PS-6244 to a system host.

RS-232/485 Selection

Use the COMMUNICATIONS function to select RS-232 or RS-485 communications.
