Start of the defrost
The start can be triggered in 3 ways:
Using the internal clock
Further defrost cannot be started until after expiry of the safe defrost time (defrost parameters), even
if the defrost has already been terminated via the evaporator temperatures. If possible, the defrost
time should not be between 02:00 and 03:00 in order to avoid problems with missing or doubled
defrost during the changeover between summer and winter time.
Using an external week timer via digital input D11/D12:
Warning about dangerous electrical voltage!
Danger of electric shock! BEFORE connecting and disconnecting, it must be checkedthat no voltage
at the 230 V AC digital inputs! The controller and connected voltage carrying components
is present
remain supplied with power!
The defrost is activated via digital input 1 (terminals D11/D12). The following cases are possible:
External defrost without Master/Slave mode
The external defrost signal must be present over the maximum duration of the defrost. The external
defrost signal thus takes over the function of the
of the internal defrost. However, the
safe defrost time
defrost is also ended when the defrost signal is present if the evaporator sensors exceed the defrost
end temperature.
External defrost with Master/Slave mode
The external defrost signal may only be present for a short time as it is only used here for the starting of
the defrost. The maximum duration of the defrost continues to be determined using the internal
parameter
(menu 3-2). In every case, the defrost signal must be shorter than the
safe defrost time
internal safe defrost time (at least 10 seconds; not longer than 5 minutes if possible).
