1.2.3
Transient Voltage Surge Suppression
An optional Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS) module provides protection
for sensitive electronic equipment from damaging transients, surges, and electrical
line noise.
See Chapter 6, PDU Operating Instructions," for TVSS status display indicators.
1.2.4
Sidecars
Optional front−mounted or side−mounted sidecars installed on the left, right, or both
sides of the main PDU provide additional branch circuit capacity. Each sidecar
contains up to two 42−circuit breaker switches (Cutler-Hammer bolt-on type BAB or
QBHW, or plug-on type HQP or QPHW) that can be assigned with flexibility to meet
facility needs. The distribution panels are enclosed behind the hinged door on the
sidecar.
1.2.5
Floorstand
An optional floorstand can support the PDU when installed in facilities with raised
floors that will not support the weight of the PDU directly.
1.2.6
Branch Circuit Monitoring
The Powerware Energy Management System Level 3 (EMS Level 3) metering is
designed to provide branch circuit monitoring (BCM) features for Powerware PDUs.
The unique benefits include the following:
S
Monitors any 42−circuit panel, measuring and storing energy parameters for each of
the 42 individual monitored circuits.
S
Monitors voltage and current for branch and subfeed breakers, and the
temperature of the transformer within the PDU.
1.2.7
Remote Emergency Power−off
A Remote Emergency Power−off (REPO) option provides tripping of the main input
breaker in situations where immediate shutdown of the PDU output to the load is
needed from a remote location. This switch must be a normally−open or
normally−closed latching-type switch not tied into any other circuits. The factory
default configuration is set up for use with a normally−open switch. To use a
normally−closed switch, the configuration must be changed during setup by an Eaton
Customer Service Engineer.
See Chapter 6, PDU Operating Instructions" for REPO operation.
1.2.8
Optional X−Slot Cards
The optional X−Slot cards support several protocols, such as SNMP and Modbus
