Requirements for connecting of electronic control
gears in fluorescent lamps or electronic control gears
for LEDs to AT-S
+
systems
ATTENTION!
Care must be taken to ensure that only control gears
with sinusoidal current consumption are used in
combination with the new AT-S+ system . Therefore
all control gears must be complied with „Limit Values
for Devices of Class C“ according to DIN EN 61000-3-2
Point 7 .3 a .) .
Ballasts for discharge lamps with an input power of
≤ 25 W are regulated according to DIN EN 61000-3-2
Point 7 .3 b) . These limit values are not sufficient under
certain conditions . Thus for these devices as well, a
confirmation according to EN 61000-3-2 Point 7 .3 a .) is
mandatory .
Likewise, for all LED control gears a confirmation
according to EN 61000-3-2 Point 7 .3 a .) is also man-
datory although LED drivers in this respect have not
been standardized until now .
Background: In AC operation control gears ≤ 25 W as
well as LED control gears can generate current dis-
tortions . A clear fault detection is not possible and
2 different function tests could generate 2 different
results . Our own control gears of the V…-series are
suitable for AT-S
+
systems independently of the condi-
tions specified above .
