Print Head
CAUTION:
The Compact 32d, 32c and 53c printers must be
calibrated before installing them on the production
line. Go to Settings > Production Line Setup > Head
Functions and select Calibrate. When calibrating,
the print head must be able to extend fully, please
ensure enough space is allowed to perform this
function. (In CM, the print head position parameter
must be set to allow this. In IM, the printing surface
should be moved from under the printer. If neither is
possible, remove the printer from the bracket).
Set the following print head parameters:
Heater State
Use this function’s pull-down menu to change the Heater State to Enabled,
Disabled when Printing or Disabled.
Print Head Set Temp
Use this menu to set a warm-up temperature for the print head.
For applications where the ambient temperature is low (less than 15°C), the
print quality can sometimes improve if the heater is activated.
Print Head Resistance
The resistance of the print head varies from head to head. Each time the
print head is changed, remember to key in the resistance of the print head.
Print head resistance consists of four digits and is indicated on the bottom
of the print head as ‘R=XXXX’, where ‘XXXX’ is the print head resistance.
CAUTION:
Setting an incorrect value may decrease the lifetime
of the print head.
Print Head Height (Compact 32d, 32c and 53c)
Use this setting to adjust the print head 0.2 - 2mm above the substrate. For
further information, see
“Optimising the Print Head” on page 2-52
.
Head Position
Use this field to set the start position of the print head in IM and CM mode.
The user can align the print head manually with the top of the print roller in
CM mode or to move the start point of the IM print sweep (which will
reduce the maximum print length by the same amount).
