Resume
Check this box and the counter will resume from the last printed
number.
Roll Over
Check this box to set a minimum and maximum range for the
counter.
Example: If the minimum value is 0 and the maximum value is 5 the
sequence would be: “0,1,2,3,4,5,0,1,2,3,4,5,0,1,2,3,4,5.....”
Step
The counter will increment by the number set here.
Example: If the step is set to 5 the sequence would be “5,10,15,20,25,30...”
Value
Set the starting value of the counter here.
Prompted Field
Create a prompted field variable, this will prompt the user to input the
required data before the printer can start a job. When a job is to be started,
a short message will appear on the display which must be answered before
the printer can start up.
The Message to appear on the display is defined using this menu, and other
attributes may be defined at the same time to provide greater assurance
that inappropriate information is not entered at the start of a print run.
The following properties are available for editing:
Input Type:
Select AlphaNumeric to enter letters and digits, or Numeric to
enter only numerical values.
Length:
The maximum number of letters is set here. For example, if it is
known in advance that all answers consist of a maximum of eight digits,
then only enter a maximum of eight digits.
Name:
The name of the variable is entered here. Selecting the Name tab
will call up a keyboard with which to key in the desired name.
Note:
No two variables can have the same name. If the name of an
already used variable is changed, the items in which the variable
is used must be manually updated.
Retain:
Check this box to store the entered data for reuse. When next prompted,
this data will auto-fill the input box.
Note:
Avoid storing personal or sensitive data.
Prompt:
Enter the actual message, which should appear on the display
when the printer is started. Answer the message accurately before the
printing can commence.
The variable name is also shown on the display when prompted.
Link
It is possible to link to another variable contained within the message, for
example the data contained in a barcode can be linked and included as text
within the same message.
