Belt tension
Standard checking
Over half the tightening length S = 185 mm the toothed belt 1 must
bend under the test load FV = 50 N so that the loaded belt just touches
the other belt.
Consequences of a too high toothed belt tension

Reduced durability

Noisy running
Consequences of a too low toothed belt tension
–
No faultless meshing between belt teeth and disc toothing
–
The teeth may skip over under load
–
Non-uniform corner stitches
–
Check the belt tension with a spring balance.
Correction
–
Loosen Allen screw 3.
–
Adjust the belt tension with core pin 2.
–
Tighten Allen screw 3.
