Advanced Scanning Interpretation
7.3.1
Those diamonds whose scan displays a ‘Recheck’ box can often be identified through
advanced scanning interpretation. Only utilize these techniques if a diamond is indicated
with the ‘Rescan or Re
-
check’ box surrounding it.
7.3.2
To accomplish this, utilize a screen view that displays all four viewing modes. You can view these
screens by clicking on the labeled tabs at the top of the screen.

Original (as scanned)
•
Fluorescent
•
Phosphorescent
•
Photoluminescent

Note that each of these views is stored as a separate *.JPG file within the file folder stored as the Lot
Number.
7.4
Stage One Advanced Analysis
7.4.1.1
Compare the photoluminescent and phosphorescent views.
•
If a stone is radiating any of the illuminated colors like the examples below and the stone glows
in
both
screens, consider the diamond to be laboratory grown. These colors may be intense or
muted.
•
Colors in each of the screens may be similar but may also be different from one screen to the
other.
