System startup

Plug one end of the power cable into the AC receptacle (A) located on the rear
of the phototherapy light. If the phototherapy light is mounted on a spring arm,
route the cable along the spring arm and secure it in the cable clips.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
If the device is connected to a power socket without a protective grounding, an
electric shock may occur.

This device must only be connected to a properly grounded hospital-grade
power socket.

Plug the other end of the power cable into a power socket.

Switch on the device using the on/off switch located on the rear of the
phototherapy light (B).
The screen briefly shows the startup screen which contains the BiliLux
firmware version and the current date and time.
The screen then proceeds to the therapy screen. The device is ready for use
immediately after startup.
At system startup, if the next inspection date is due within 30 days, the screen
may display a message informing the user of the due date for 15 seconds before
proceeding to the therapy screen. The screen will display this message only if
configured to do so by service personnel.
At system startup, if the next inspection date is past due, the screen will display
a message informing the user of the overdue date. Press the
key to
continue to the therapy screen.

Proceed to Functional check procedure on page 38.

Following the functional check procedure, configure the device (see chapter
"Configuration" on page 55).

To begin therapy, position the device and set the irradiance as described in
chapter "Operation" on page 41.
