Folder structure in a microSD Card
When you copy data from the FOMA terminal to a
microSD card, folders are created as shown in
Table 1
(p.353) and the data are saved to the
corresponding folders. The folder names and file
names are set automatically as shown in
Table 1
.
z
When transferring data from a PC to a microSD
card, use the same folder structure and file names
as shown in
Table 1
(p.353).
●
Number of files that can be stored in
the microSD card
The number of files that can be stored in a microSD
card varies depending on the memory capacity of the
microSD card. The following table shows the
maximum number of files that can be stored in a
single folder and the maximum number of folders:
z
Up to about 65,400 folders/files can be recognized
in a microSD card.
z
You can save more files by adding folders or
changing the location to copy. However, you may
not be able to store data up to the maximum
number depending on the file size.
z
You cannot copy or move data when the space is
not enough in the microSD card.
z
When the microSD card capacity is full, you cannot
add folders or edit titles for still image, image,
movies or i-motion.
z
Music data cannot move from the FOMA terminal
to the microSD card.
z
When the number of files in the destination folder
has reached the maximum, a new folder is created
automatically and the data is saved to the folder
(except for SD_PIM, DICT and IM_DATA folder).
However, a folder is not created automatically when
saving a still image directly to the microSD card
after shooting with the camera.
N
z
When copying multiple data to the SD_PIM folder,
the data are automatically titled as year/month/
day/hour/minute (yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm).
z
You can save a movie with video from a PC to the
MMFILE folder, but cannot play the movie on the
FOMA terminal.
z
A file edited on a PC then saved to the microSD
card may not be displayed or played correctly on
the FOMA terminal if you use characters different
from the folder/file names shown in
Table 1
(p.353).
z
When the microSD card is formatted and
SDVIDEO.DAT, MMFILE.DAT or DCIM.DAT file is
deleted, the settings of the destination folder are
released. In this case, reset the setting of “Select
to save”.
z
Do not delete or move folders in the microSD card
on a PC. The FOMA terminal may not be able to
read the microSD card.
z
Data saved from another device to the microSD
card may not be able to be displayed or played on
the FOMA terminal. Also, data saved from the
FOMA terminal to the microSD card may not be
able to be displayed or played on another device.
z
Before purchasing a microSD reader/writer or PC
card adapter, check with the manufacturer for the
microSD card operations supported by the FOMA
terminal.
