Managing IPv4 and IPv6 Multicast
Configuring and Viewing PIM-DM for IPv6 Multicast Routing
Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to
configure PIM-DM for IPv6 multicast routing on the switch and on VLAN
routing interfaces and to view PIM-DM information.
show ip pim interface
vlan
vlan-id
View the PIM-DM information for the specified
interface.
show ip pim neighbor
[
interface vlan
vlan-id
|
all
]
View a summary or all the details of the multicast
table.
Command
Purpose
configure
Enter global configuration mode.
ip routing
Enable IP routing. Routing is required for PIM
operation.
ipv6 unicast-routing
Enable IPv6 routing. IPv6 routing is required for
the operation of PIM.
ipv6 pim dense
Enable PIM-DM on the switch.
ip multicast
Enable IPv6/IPv6 multicast routing.
ip igmp
Enable IGMP. IGMP is required for PIM to
operate properly.
interface vlan
vlan-id
Enter Interface Configuration mode for the
specified VLAN.
ipv6 pim
Enable PIM on the interface.
ipv6 enable
Enable IPv6 on the VLAN.
ipv6 mld router
Enable MLD on the VLAN. MLD is required for
PIM.
ipv6 pim hello-interval
seconds
Specify the number of seconds (range: 0–65535)
to wait between sending PIM hello messages on
the interface.
exit
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
show ipv6 pim
View system-wide PIM information.
