Removing the keyboard

Prerequisites
1. Remove the base cover .
2. Remove the battery (half-length) or the battery (full-length) , whichever applicable.
3. Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 3 in Removing the hard drive .
4. Remove the wireless card .
5. Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 5 in Removing the heat sink .
6. Remove the I/O board .
7. Remove the solid-state drive/Intel Optane .
8. Remove the coin-cell battery .
9. Remove the system board .
Procedure
1. Remove the eight screws (M1.2x2.4) that secure the keyboard bracket to the palm-rest assembly.
2. Remove the 32 screws (M1.2x1.9) that secure the keyboard to the palm-rest assembly.
3. Lift the keyboard off the palm-rest assembly.
