Inspect for loose fasteners and bent or damaged parts.
Inspect the Housing (A) for distortion, cracks, or other damage.
Inspect the Swivel (B) and Swivel Eye or Integral Connector (C) for
distortion, cracks, or other damage. The Swivel should be attached
securely to the SRD, but should pivot freely. The Swivel Eye or Integral
Connector should rotate freely in the Swivel.
The Lifeline (D) should pull out and retract fully without hesitation or
creating a slack line condition.
Ensure the SRD locks up when the Lifeline is jerked sharply. Lockup should
be positive with no slipping.
Inspect the entire unit for signs of corrosion.
Rescue Slings
(Figure 3)
Inspect the Lanyard (A) for cuts, frays, or broken fibers. Check for
tears, abrasions, heavy soiling, mold, burns, or discoloration. Inspect
the stitching; check for pulled or cut stitches. Broken stitches may be an
indication that the device has been impact loaded and must be removed
from service.

Inspect the Lanyard (A) for cuts, frays, or broken fibers. Check for

the stitching; check for pulled or cut stitches. Broken stitches may be an

Inspect the Snap Hook (B) for distortion, cracks, wear, and bending of the
metal. Ensure that the gate opens and operates smoothly.
Rescue Cable Grab
(Figure 5)
Verify that the Energy Absorber (A) has not activated. A torn Energy
Absorber Ring (B), an open or torn cover, webbing pulled out of the cover,
torn or frayed webbing, ripped stitching, etc. are indicators of an activated
Energy Absorber.
Inspect the Energy Absorber Delta Link (C) and O-Ring Connector (D) for
distortion, cracks, wear, and bending of the metal.
Inspect the Cable Grab Shoe (E) for distortion, cracks, wear, and bending
of the metal. Verify that the Cable Grab Shoe locks on the cable wire.
Inspect the Cable Grab Body (F) for distortion, cracks, wear, and bending
of the metal.
Verify that the Cable Grab Handle (G) operates smoothly. Verify that the
Handle locks in the up position.
Rescue Web Grab
(Figure 6)
Inspect the Web Grab Body (A) for for distortion, cracks, wear, and
bending of the metal.
Verify that the Web Grab Handle (B) operates smoothly. Verify that the
Handle locks in the down position.
Verify that the Locking Pin (C) engages smoothly.
Rescue Bracket
(Figure 7)
Inspect the Lanyard (A) for cuts, frays, or broken fibers. Check for
tears, abrasions, heavy soiling, mold, burns, or discoloration. Inspect
the stitching; check for pulled or cut stitches. Broken stitches may be an
indication that the device has been impact loaded and must be removed
from service.
Inspect the Bracket (B) for distortion, cracks, wear, and bending of the
metal.
Micro-Pulley
(Figure 8)
Inspect the Pulley Bracket (A) for distortion, cracks, wear, and bending of
the metal.
Verify that the Pulley Wheel (B) operates smoothly.
Inspect the entire unit for signs of corrosion.
Labels
