9.1  Inspection

The operator and his agents must inspect the backwater closure monthly.
The following work steps must thereby be taken:

1. Press the multi-function button (9) with a pen or small screwdriver for 5 seconds. The "CLOSED" display and acoustic signal are responding. 
    The closure closes.
2. Repeated short pressing of the button will re-open the Stausafe.
3. Repeatedly close and open the emergency closure with the manual lock (4) to achieve free movement.

 The emergency closure must be open after the inspection is completed!

Note:

9.2  Maintenance

A qualified technician must maintain the backwater closure semi-annually.

 No backwater may be present at the time of maintenance work.

Note:

9.2.1  Checking the sensor

1.  Remove the sensor (14) and check for accumulations
2.  Wipe the sensor with a cloth
3.  Dip the sensor in water for 10 seconds
4.  Drive closes (acoustic signal)
5.  Remove the sensor from the water
6.  The flap will re-open after 20 seconds
7.  Insert the sensor properly and screw in

9.2.2 Checking the tightness of the operation (1) and emergency closure (2) in compliance with DIN EN 13564

1. Press the multi-function button (9) with a pen or small screwdriver for 5 seconds. The "CLOSED" display and acoustic signal are responding. 
    The closure closes
2. Close the emergency closure with the manual lock (4)
3. Unscrew the check plug (15) and screw in the test pipe
4. Fill in water and let it rise to the funnel edge
5. Monitor the water level in the funnel for 10 minutes and keep it at the original height by topping it up, if applicable

6. The backwater closure is considered to be sufficiently tight when no more than 500 cm  have to be topped off during this period
7. Repeated short pressing of the button will re-open the Stausafe
8. Remove the test pipe
9. Screw the check plug with seal into the cover

A conversion set is available to convert a backwater closure Stausafe RS to a Stausafe F.
