Operation
3.5.2 Manual operation
Manual operation is used to manually control the heat generator
to a specific T-HS. Manual operation should only be used for di-
agnostic purposes.
With hydraulically-controlled operation for hot water generation,
it is important to ensure that the T-HS value set in manual oper-
ation is sufficient to achieve the saved hot water target temper-
ature ([T-DHW Setpoint 1] parameter).
During active manual operation, the hot water is continuously
controlled to the first target value parameter of the hot water gen-
eration ([T-DHW Setpoint 1]).
If manual operation is ended, the RoCon BF control unit automat-
ically switches to
"Standby"
operating mode.
3.5.3 STL Test
The STL function switches off the burner at an inadmissibly high
boiler temperature and locks it against being switched on again
automatically.
The limit temperatures are permanently defined in the firing unit
of the respective heat generator and cannot be changed.

CAUTION!
Risk of burns from hot surfaces.
●
During and after the STL test, only touch the
heat generator and connected hydraulic
components wearing suitable protective
gloves.
●
Allow the heat generator to cool down for a
sufficient period of time after the STL test.
CAUTION!
Risk of overheating during the STL test. The
heat generator and a heating circuit directly
connected to the heat generator could be
damaged during the STL test.
●
The STL test must only be carried out by the
heating expert.
●
If the direct heating circuit cannot be hydrau-
lically uncoupled before the STL test (e.g.
floor heating), it must be manually lockable
on both sides.
●
To prevent damage to the heat generator, a
bypass line must be installed before the STL
test.
●
If the heat resistance of the material installed
in the direct heating circuit is less than
105 °C, it must be locked and a bypass line
opened before carrying out the STL test.
