Making and Answering Phone Calls
7.1.
Handset and Speaker modes
During a call, audio-in can be through two modes, namely, the traditional handset
mode or hands free (speaker) mode while audio-out can be through handset,
hands free or through TV.
If handset mode or hands free mode is the only active mode, then both
audio-in and audio-out would be through the same mode.
Whenever both handset and hands free modes are active, then audio-in
would be through handset only.
Audio-out at any time would be through all the modes active.
Note:
•
The active hands free mode (speaker) gets automatically turned off, when
handset is picked up or when the call gets terminated.
7.2. Making Calls
You can make a call in two ways:
1)
Manual Dial
:
Go off-hook by lifting the handset from the cradle or, by switching on the
speaker to get the manual dial screen. Here, you can enter your contact’s complete
URI (User ID, Domain and Port) or the speed dial number associated with any of
your known contacts followed by speed dial key sequence to make the call.
Numeric and Alpha-Numeric modes:
You can toggle between Numeric and Alpha Numeric modes while entering
your contact’s details depending on the context. In numeric mode only digits (0-9)
can be entered, while in Alpha-Numeric mode, any character acceptable in the
field can be entered. This is to facilitate easy and fast entering of numeric phone
numbers.
Please note that ‘*’ and ‘.’ can not be entered when you are in numeric mode and the
modes are dynamically changeable.
