Step 4: Configure Wireless Network
In this step, the user can configure the wireless configuration for this router.
In this section we can configure the following parameters.
Wireless 2.4GHz:
Select this option to configure the wireless 2.4GHz band
settings.
Wireless 5GHz:
Select this option to configure the wireless 5GHz band settings.
Enable Your Wireless Network:
Tick this option to enable the wireless network
feature of this router.
Band:
This option will display the wireless band being configured.
Wireless Network Name (SSID):
In this textbox, we can enter the wireless
networks name (SSID) for the wireless network, hosted by this router. This
name will be visible for all wireless clients to see before initiating a connection
to this router.
Visibility Status:
Here the user can choose to hide the SSID or not. To make the
SSID visible, select this
Visible
option. To hide the wireless SSID, select the
Invisible
option.
Wireless Channel:
Here we can select to use a specific wireless channel, to
prevent interference with other exiting wireless networks in the environment, or
we can allow this router to automatically choose the channel that has the least
interference by selecting the
Auto
option.
Security Level:
Here we can select the wireless security level for our wireless
network being configured. Options to choose from are
None
,
WEP
,
WPA-PSK
,
and
WPA2-PSK
.
