5.4 CPU, CPU Cooling Kit and DIMM Installation

WARNING:

A CPU should never be turned on without the specified cooling kit

being installed. If the cooling kit (heat sink and fan) is not properly

installed and the system turned on, permanent damage to the CPU,

MXGC Series and other electronic components attached to the system

may be incurred. Running a CPU without a cooling kit may also result

in injury to the user.

The CPU, CPU cooling kit and DIMM are the most critical components of the MXGC

Series. If one of these components is not installed the MXGC Series cannot run.

5.4.1 LGA775 CPU Installation

NOTE:

Enabling Hyper-Threading Technology on your system requires

meeting all of the platform requirements listed below:

CPU

: An Intel® Pentium 4 Processor with HT Technology

must be installed

Chipset

: An Intel® Chipset that supports HT Technology

(that has been met by the MXGC Series)

: An operating system that has optimizations for HT

Technology
