10. Assembly
Instructions
NOTE: Cruzbike recumbents MUST BE FULLY ASSEMBLED by your dealer or local bike shop.
The following assembly information is intended primarily for the Dealer or local bike shop Technician
performing this assembly.
Please note the information at the end of this section concerning the Safety Bolt feature of the
Telescoping Front Tube (TFT).
Sofrider / Freerider
The assembly procedure for the Sofrider is as follows, notes that apply to the Freerider are presented
in brackets, [like so]:
1.
Carefully remove the seat, parts box and
both wheels from the bike carton and set
these aside
2.
Prepare a flat work area, with a piece of
carpet or cardboard about two feet by 5
feet.
3.
Carefully lift the bike from the carton and
place on your prepared area:

Cut the cable ties holding the handlebar to
the frame.
5.
Turn the front triangle forward and with a
5mm Allen key loosen the bolt under head
stem, lift the stem up till it is almost
vertical and retighten the bolt. [Not
required on Freerider.]
6.
Using a 4mm Allen key, fit the handlebar
to the headstem. First remove the four
bolts holding the bar clamp. [For
Freerider, using a 6mm Allen fit the stem
into the stem mount.]
7.
Rotate the handlebar as shown below,
and tighten the four clamp bolts. [For
Freerider, loosen the handlebar clamp
and lift the bars to about 45 degrees.] Do
this so that when you place the bike
upside down it will be stable to work on.
8.
Study the seat mount (SM) and observe
that it is assembled in the middle of five
possible forward-aft positions. It is held on
with bolts that pass through the frame,
