proprietary driver, you need only to connect it to the Organelle. This can be done via a
USB port either on the Organelle itself or on a USB hub that is connected to the
Organelle.
2.
Select the MIDI device in MIDI Setup
In the MIDI menu select
Device
. You can now
scroll through a list of MIDI devices (if you have connected more than one, they will all
be on the list). The device name usually contains the manufacturer or model number.
Press the encoder to make your selection, then select
Save
.
3.
Load the patch you want to use. If it was already loaded, please reload it.
Reload the
patch for the settings to take e
ff
ect.
That's about it. By remembering to reload your patch and knowing what MIDI messages
are understood by the Organelle (see the immediately previous section) and/or those
understood by the particular patch you have loaded, you should be all set to use MIDI with
the Organelle.
4. Managing Patches
Bringing additional patches from your computer to
Organelle.
One of the strengths of the Organelle is its depth. Included on your Organelle's microSD
card are numerous patches that use the instrument in a plethora of fashions. These
included factory patches represent what is possible with the Organelle, but are by no
means the only patches you can use.
As was mentioned in an earlier chapter, the patches page is the o
ffi
cial repository of the
Organelle patches. It is a great place to start when looking for new sounds, options, and
performance approaches. In addition Patch Storage is a website that hosts many user
created patches for the Organelle and also other open platforms.
The Organelle can load patches from the internal microSD or a USB drive inserted into one
of the USB ports on the side. When you power up the Organelle (or choose
Reload
from
the Storage menu), the Organelle will first check if a USB drive is present and contains
patches. If there is no USB drive, the Organelle will check the internal microSD card and
use the patches there.
