6.3.4 Fan 

Inspection 

Contact your local service technician for fan replacement parts. 
Periodically feel unit for abnormal vibration that would indicate a fan balance issue or bearing 
problem. Also listening to the unit for unusual or atypical sounds can indicate a problem. Unusual 
sounds or vibration should be investigated. 
Examination of the histogram log files for inconsistencies between fans can also be an indication of 
degraded fan performance.  The six fans should have similar histograms. If one fan shows 
consistently greater hours at lower rpm, it might be an indication of reduced fan performance. 
A trained technician can perform replacements as covered in the CPI service manual #

6.4 Technician’s Preventative Maintenance 

 

Warning:  Service technicians must be service personnel who have 
attended formal training for service of the Indoor SSPA.

6.4.1 Initial 

Power-On

Every three months the initial power-on and checkout procedure in

 chapter should be performed. 

6.4.2 Air 

System 

Maintenance 

The Indoor SSPA must be checked for airflow to insure it is properly transferring heat away from 
the internal heatsink. This means that the measurement of airflow temperature, the inspection, 
and elimination of any contaminants restricting the airflow must be performed periodically. The 
recommended cycle is three months, but may be required more often if conditions warrant it. 

6.4.3 

Run Performance Tests 

Once a year run the performance tests in 

“Performance Testing”

 section of this chapter to ensure 

Indoor SSPA’s performance.
