e:: Many faults can be located and rectified directly on the system by mea-
suring DC voltage and current, polarity, insulation and resistance. The neces-
sary measuring techniques are described in chapter 9.2. Disconnect any
installed electrical tubular heating elements from the mains supply. The chek-
ks described may o

Preventive action before performing any other checks: reset the potentiostat
by separating the device for about 30 seconds from the mains supply in order
to create well-defined starting conditions. Reconnect the mains supply.

err,, check the following possible fault
causes and perform the measures required as remedial action.
1. The hot-water tank is not filled with water.
Inspection: Check that the hot-water tank is filled completely with water.
Remedial action: if necessary, fill the hot-water tank completely with water.
2. The electrical contact between plug-in potentiostat and anode / tank
connection by means of the connecting cable is not ensured.
Inspection: Check all connections and contacts for perfect electrical continuity.
Remedial action: establish the electrical contact and install a new
connecting cable, if needed.
