4. Function check
The correct installation of the diode board (4
4) must be checked by means
of a digital multimeter or with the CorroScout
®
500 anode tester. Set the
test equipment to the 'diode check' position. If properly installed, the indi-
cation must be open circuit (megohm range = reverse direction) when the
positive probe is brought in contact with the M8 thread bolt and the negati-
ve probe with the screw fitting.

e:: The screw fitting must be pressure-tight. If possible, test the fitting in
a pressure test with compressed air (10 bars) before installation in the tank
and check for tightness, e.g. by using dish-cleaner liquid around the fitting
location an by watching out for rising bubbles (leaks).

g::
1. Empty the storage tank, if necessary.
2. For retrofitting, remove the old protective (Mg) anode, if any.
3. Screw the titanium anode with preassembled screw fitting (1) down into the
threaded sleeve of the storage tank until it is pressure-tight.

e:: The G3/4", G1", G1¼" screw fittings are equipped with a PTFE seal.
When this ring is damaged, for instance, after having been screwed down
repeatedly, the joint must be resealed with sealing material for threads like
hemp or PTFE ribbon.
4. Push the spade terminal (7
7) at the end of the cable labelled 'connection
ground tank' under the earthing screw (8
8) of the tank. If the tank has no
earthing screw, the ground contact must be established by other reliable
means. Without a perfectly conducting galvanic connection, the CORREX
®
UP system cannot perform its function.
5. Push the receptacle at the tank end of the connecting cable (4
4) on the tab
(5
5) at the toothed disk of the anode (6
6) or, if the cable is equipped with a
ring terminal, place the ring directly on the M8 thread bolt. When a ring
terminal is used, the connection must be secured with another M8 nut.
The connecting cable may also be equipped with two anode connectors if
the storage tank has more than one titanium anode.
6. Push the two different flat connectors (9
9) and (1
12
2) at the other end of the
connecting cable on the connectors in the opening (1
10
0) of the plug-in
potentiostat. Push the larger connector (6.3 x 0.8 mm) on the larger tab and
the smaller one (4.8 x 0.8 mm) on the smaller tab of the plug-in potentiostat.
7. Fill the storage tank with water and check for leaks.
8. Observe the pilot lamp in the plug-in housing.
