k:: The correct polarity must be checked by
measuring magnitude and sign of the drive potential applied with a
DC-voltmeter (e.g. digital multimeter or CorroScout
®
500). For measuring,
the instrument must be set to the 20 V DC range, the negative probe of the
instrument connected to the tank and the positive probe to the titanium
anode. The drive potential applied must be U > +2,3 V DC. Observe the '+'
sign. For this measurement, the tank must be filled with water and the
plug-in potentiostat connected.

e:: If the pilot lamp begins flashing right away after the first
installation, it can be assumed that the malfunction is due to inappropriate
installation. Check and eliminate the fault in accordance with the
instructions set out in chapter 9.

1. Remove any existing magnesium protection anode before installing the
CORREX
®
UP system (in case of retrofitting).
2. Never connect the plug-in potentiostat to magnesium protection anodes.
3. The titanium anode must be in direct contact with internal tank components
or with the tank wall. The quality of the insulation must be checked with a
suitable measuring instrument (e.g digital multimeter or CorroScout
®
500).
During this measurement, the titanium anode must not be immersed in water.
4. The function of the CORREX
®
UP system is only ensured if all electrical
parts are safely connected by metallic conductors. The quality of the galvanic
connections must be checked with a suitable measuring instrument (e.g
digital multimeter or CorroScout
®
500).
5. Use only the original connecting cables.
6. Never extend the connecting cables: otherwise risk of connection with
wrong polarity and thus of increased corrosion.
7. Check before commissioning that the cables are not interchanged.
Interchanging the cables results in increased corrosion.
