ASSEMBLY
Fitting/changing the diamond cutting discs
WARNING.
Always ensure that the plug is
disconnected from power source, the tool is
switched off before refitting or removing cutting
discs to prevent accidental starting.
Removing cutting discs
Lay the machine on the side so that the cutting
depth scale is visible.
Loosen the depth locking knob by hand and the
spindle cover locking bolt with the hexagon wrench
supplied. Swivel the spindle cover upward.
Whilst depressing the spindle lock button, remove
the outer flange using the supplied pin wrench, and
then push the base plate outward.
Remove the spacers and discs and clean them
thoroughly.
Refitting new cutting discs
Ensure that the inner flange / sleeve is correctly
fitted to the spindle.
Place a new diamond cutting disc over the sleeve
locating it onto the inner flange, ensure that the
direction of rotation arrow on the diamond disc
corresponds with the direction of rotation arrow on
the protective guard.
Position the required spacer / spacers onto the
shaft.
Position the second diamond disc over the shaft
locating it onto the spacer, ensure that
the
direction of rotation arrow on the diamond disc
corresponds with the direction of rotation arrow on
the protective guard.
NOTE:
If you are not setting the machine to its
maximum cutting width , the remaining spacers
must now be located onto the shaft that is
protruding above the outboard disc.
Refit the outer flange, tighten with fingers until the
outer flange is clamped.
Locate and depress the spindle lock and using the
supplied spanner, tighten the outer flange in a anti-
clockwise direction until it is firmly clamped but do
not over tighten.
Release the spindle lock, refit the spindle cover and
tighten the locking knobs.
WARNING.
Always wear sturdy gloves when
handling or changing discs.
NOTE:
Before using the wall chaser again, check
that the safety devices are in good working order.
IMPORTANT:
After replacing the cutting discs make
sure that the cutting discs run freely by turning them
by hand. Start the machine, if any vibration or
unusual noise is present, stop the machine
immediately and investigate the cause.
WARNING.
When assembling the cutting discs,
ensure that the direction-of-rotation arrows on the
cutting discs match with the direction-of-rotation
arrow on the guard.
CAUTION! Always replace
diamond cutting discs in pairs.
Cutting depth adjustment
Loosen the depth locking knob and adjust the
required cutting depth according to the depth scale.
Tighten the depth locking knob.
Cutting width adjustment
Adjust the cutting width by increase or decrease
amount of the spacer between two discs.
The cutting width is calculated as follows:
Width of cutting discs is 2mm, and each spacer
washer is 3.8mm.
WARNING.
At least one spacer must be mounted
between the two cutting discs.
Dust extraction
Connect the dust extraction port to a suitable
vacuum cleaner. It is recommended that the dust
extraction facility is used at all times.
OPERATION
Mark the line of cut before
starting work, hold the
machine tightly with both
hands.
CAUTION:
• Be sure to pull the tool when cutting a workpiece.
• Use this tool for straight line cutting only. Cutting
curves can cause stress cracks or
fragmentation of the diamond wheels resulting in
possible injury to persons in the vicinity.
• After operation, always switch off the tool and wait
until the diamond wheels come to a complete
stop before putting the tool down.
• Hold the tool firmly with one hand on the switch
handle and the other hand on the front grip when
performing the tool.
Hold the tool firmly with both hands. First keep
the diamond wheels without making any contact
with a workpiece. Then turn the tool on and
wait until the diamond wheels attain full speed.
