LIMITS OF USE OF THE CONEL FLOW SERIES
1.4.1
How it works
The Conel Flow Rain-Champion is a compact, ready-to-connect rainwater system controller for the
water supply with rainwater from a storage tank or as required with drinking water from the in-house
drinking water network according to [EN DIN 1717] to protect the drinking water installation
against
recontamination, backflow and mixing by contaminated water with a safety device of type AB of
liquid category 5.
This makes the Conel Flow Rain-Champion ideal for the water supply with process water for toilet flus
-
hing, washing machines, surface / underground irrigation, ponds, fountains or process water.
The Conel Flow Rain-Champion is supplied with rainwater depending on the water level in the associa-
ted storage tank. If the water level in the storage tank is not reached, a demand-oriented make-up with
drinking water from the internal drinking water network takes place automatically. This changeover to
drinking water operation takes place via a motor-driven zone valve, which is controlled via level sensor in
the storage tank. As soon as drinking water is required, it is replenished via a mechanically proportionally
controlled float valve in the feed tank of the Conel Flow Rain-Champion with a free outlet according to
[DIN EN 13077] type AB (no automatic water exchange in the feed tank).
If the user requests service water (e.g. toilet flushing), the automatic pump switch switches the centrifu
-
gal pump on and off depending on the pressure, depending on the pressure and the flow, thus ensuring
the supply of water (rainwater or drinking water).
A shock absorber integrated in the automatic pump switch reduces line pressure peaks and thus helps
to avoid possible damage to the system. The automatic pump switch has also „dry running monitoring“
of the connected centrifugal pump and switches it out of operation if necessary - protection against
possible damage to the centrifugal pump.
The compact design, the simple and convenient wall mounting as well as the detachable screw connec-
tions on the drinking water, suction and pressure connection enable easy and quick installation of the
Conel Flow Rain-Champion.
