Maintenance
Removing the Pump Motor and Seal
(1/2 to 2 Hp, any frequency and 3 HP, 60 Hz units)

Remove the dust cap
from the bell end motor housing to expose the motor shaft.

Using a locking pair of pliers, grip
the flat sides of the motor shaft.

Remove impeller lock nut using a
5/8 inch deep socket.
The lock nut is
secured in place with a high perfor-
mance thread locker. A significant
amount of torque will be required to
break it free. Use the locking pliers at
the other end of the shaft to prevent
shaft rotation when removing the lock
nut and impeller. Standard clockwise
thread is used.

Unscrew the impeller from the shaft.
