Local-only mode:
•
Allows the local modem management access through the assigned Dedicated Management
Port.
• Does not allow the local modem management access through any other port that is not
designated as a Dedicated Management Port.

Does not allow management access to the distant-end modems from the local modem’s
assigned Dedicated Management Port.
•
Does not allow management access to the local modem from any distant-end modem,
whether or not that modem has an assigned Dedicated Management Port.

IP Setup: MAC-Lrng (MAC Learning)
You must cycle unit power whenever enabling or disabling MAC Learning Mode.

MAC Learning is an Ethernet switch function that allows the LAN (user) side of the Ethernet
ports to learn the MAC addresses of the equipment connected to those ports.

arrow keys to select MAC Learning as On or Off :

When you select On (
enabled
), the interface is in LAN-to-WAN learning mode, and the
switch learns the connections based on source MAC addresses and ingress ports.
Learning applies only to the LAN (user) side of the Ethernet ports. There is no learning on
the WAN (modem) side of the ports.
Once the switch learns the connections, it will not send any more packets destined to local
node over WAN.
•
When you select Off (
disabled
), the interface passes all packets from the LAN to the WAN.
Press ENTER, and then cycle the unit power .
