Cabling the Ethernet Interconnect
An Ethernet crossover cable is required for cluster interconnects using
Ethernet. To cable the Ethernet interconnect, connect one end of the Ethernet
crossover cable to the embedded NIC in node 1. Connect the other end of the
Ethernet crossover cable to the embedded NIC in node 2. Figure 2-4 illustrates
the proper cabling.
Cabling the CI Serial Cable
IMPORTANT:
The CI serial cable is required.
To cable the CI serial cable, connect one end of the CI serial cable to serial
port connector B in node 1. Connect the other end of the CI serial cable to
serial port connector B in node 2. Figure 2-2 illustrates the proper cabling for
clusters that use ServerNet I interconnect. Figure 2-4 illustrates the proper
cabling for clusters that use Ethernet interconnect.
