Unlocking and locking the scanner
When the A3000 is shipped, the scanner is locked to
prevent movement and possible damage. Before you
can use the scanner or make copies, it must be
unlocked.
To unlock or lock the scanner:

Turn the power Off by pressing the
Power
button.

Open the front door.

In the upper-left hand corner there is a sliding lever:

To unlock the scanner, push the lever inward
(away from you) until it stops.

To lock the scanner, pull the lever toward you until
it stops.

Press the
Power
button to turn the power back On.
Note:
The scanner should be locked during transportation or
shipping.
Cleaning the scanner glass
Over time, the scanner glass may become dirty. To
ensure the best quality scans, wipe the scanner glass
with a soft clean cloth to remove dust or other debris.
Caution:
Never put water or spray glass cleaner directly on the
scanner glass! If you need to remove a stubborn smudge,
slightly dampen your cloth with water or glass cleaner first,
then apply only the cloth to the glass.
