14. Head Alignment
If heads are pre-installed, then need not to perform the alignment but it recommended to cross the alignment
settings using the below mentioned tests.
To improve and enhance the printing quality, you must carefully align the print head. The head alignment process
for single and dual heads consists the following five tests:

Dot Test
•
Head Interleave Test
•
Head Slant Test (Or Angle Test)
•
Head Interval Test (For dual heads)
•
Head Space Alignment (For dual heads)
•
Feed Adjustment
•
Horizontal Adjustment
Let’s discuss these checks one by one
in the upcoming sections.
Dot Test
This test checks the dot placement accuracy of each color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) to enhance the
quality of printing. This test is not mandatory to perform.
Head Interleave Test
The head interleave test checks the
edge’s
orientation of the print head with respect to the head plate. The left
and right edges of the print head should be exactly parallel to the head plate, as shown below:

In the head interleave test print, the center color (Yellow) should be matched in a line with the base color (Black
Color). If the right or left edge is slightly down or up (viewed from top) as compared to other edge, then the
pattern will not be in straight line.
