INSTALL RIDGE CAP ASSEMBLY
The ridge cap assembly is shipped in
sections. When installed properly, one
section overlaps another until the last
section is attached.
NOTE:
Each section of the ridge cap
assembly is secured to the greenhouse
using 3" construction screws (#FAS14)
installed
from the inside of the greenhouse
.
Using a 1/8" drill bit, drill a hole from
1.
the underside of the ridge assembly
up through the ridge assembly in the
locations described to the right.
Once the holes are drilled through the ridge assembly, countersink each hole approximately 1-1/2" from
2.
the bottom. Use a bit that is as wide or slightly wider than the head of a 3" construction screw (#FAS14).
Place the first section of ridge cap (#CG12132) in position as shown below. Verify that the wood of
3.
the ridge cap section is flush against the rake boards. Ridge cap will extend beyond the end of the
greenhouse.
Insert FAS14 construction screws through the first pre-drilled holes into the wood of the ridge cap and
4.
tighten. See diagram below.
Place the next ridge cap section into position, overlapping the first section, and secure as described in
5.
the previous step.
Continue to secure sections of ridge cap in place until all sections are attached to the greenhouse.
6.
Roof panels and
rafters removed
for clarity.
1
NOTE:
Drill holes in similar locations the entire length of
the ridge assembly. Position holes to avoid drilling through
any rafter brackets and middle connectors.
